Excavation and disposal
Existing paving, concrete or turf is broken out and removed from site.

Granular material is laid and compacted in layers to give a stable, load-bearing base.

Falls and drainage
The patio is set to fall away from the property, with channel drainage where the layout requires it.

Laying
Slabs are laid on a full mortar bed — never on dabs — with a primer on porcelain, and consistent joint widths.

Jointing and finishing
Joints are filled with a suitable jointing compound, the surface is cleaned down and edges are made good.

- Most domestic patios take between three days and two weeks depending on size, the amount of breaking out required, access and whether steps or walls are included.
- Do you dispose of the old patio?
- Yes. Broken slabs, concrete and spoil are removed from site and disposed of as part of the quoted work.
- Can you install a patio and fencing at the same time?
- Yes, and it is usually the most sensible order of work. Fencing, patios, decking and artificial grass are all carried out by our own team, so the project runs as one job.
- Is porcelain better than natural stone?
- Neither is better in every situation. Porcelain is dense, consistent and simple to clean. Natural stone has more variation and character and often suits older properties. We will show you both at the survey.
