The best time of year for garden landscaping work

Artificial grass and hard landscaping can be installed in almost any weather. Scheduling is really about lead times.

Spring

The busiest period by a wide margin. Everyone looks at the garden in March and wants it finished by May. Book early — lead times stretch quickly from February onwards.

Summer

Excellent conditions for paving and jointing, and the ground is at its driest for excavation. Still busy, but slightly easier to schedule than late spring.

Autumn

Often the best value time of year. Ground conditions are usually still workable, lead times shorten, and the garden is ready to use the following spring rather than being built during it.

Winter

Artificial grass, fencing and groundwork continue through winter. Mortar work is limited by frost, so patio installation may pause during a hard freeze. Wet ground can make excavation and access messier, and we plan protection accordingly.
